Fubo Unbundles Regional Sports With My Local Sports Add-On

The streaming package pairs a lighter national sports lineup with in-market team networks across MLB, NBA and NHL markets.

Fubo’s My Local Sports add-on lets eligible subscribers pair its lighter sports plan with an in-market regional network, following new NHL carriage deals in four markets.

Fubo launched My Local Sports on September 29, giving customers in select markets a new way to add their in-market regional sports network to the lighter Fubo Sports streaming plan. Rather than requiring Fubo’s broader live-TV package, the add-on combines local team coverage with Fubo Sports, which was reported at $64.99 per month and includes more than 20 national sports and broadcast networks. My Local Sports also includes sports-focused free, ad-supported streaming channels.

FuboTV CEO Alisa Bowen positioned the launch as part of the company’s strategy for profitable growth through greater flexibility, choice and value. The practical change for viewers is that an eligible subscriber can build a narrower package around national sports and the regional network assigned to the subscriber’s market. Fubo’s promotional materials say the service includes Cloud DVR, requires no contract and works across connected-TV and mobile devices.

The initial network lineup spans Major League Baseball, NBA and NHL territories. It includes AB TV, Blue Jackets Hockey Network, Blue Note+, BravesVision, Brewers.TV, Cardinals.TV, Chicago Home Sports Network, Detroit Sports Network, Diamondbacks.TV, Guardians.TV, Hurricanes Hockey Network, Mariners.TV, Marlins.TV, Marquee Sports Network, MASN, Padres.TV, Rangers Sports Network, Rays.TV, Reds.TV, Rockies.TV, Royals.TV, Twins.TV and Wild+. NBC Sports Bay Area, NBC Sports Boston, NBC Sports California and NBC Sports Philadelphia are also included for eligible in-market customers.

The launch followed Fubo’s September 28 multi-year distribution agreement with the National Hockey League. That agreement added regional coverage of the Carolina Hurricanes, Columbus Blue Jackets, Minnesota Wild and St. Louis Blues before the 2026-27 season. Their respective networks—Hurricanes Hockey Network, Blue Jackets Hockey Network, Wild+ and Blue Note+—became part of Fubo’s local-sports offering in the teams’ territories. Todd Mathers, Fubo’s executive vice president of content strategy and acquisition, said the deal would preserve access amid changes in sports-rights ownership, while NHL Chief Media Officer David Proper said it created another option for local fans.

ConsumerEXP analysis: My Local Sports shifts the regional-sports model from an automatic component of a large channel bundle toward a selectable streaming layer. That could lower the number of unrelated channels sports viewers must buy, although availability remains dependent on location and each network’s territorial rights.
