Shapermint’s $10 Million TikTok Shop Push Shows How Creator-Led Selling Is Rewriting Live Commerce

Sephora and eBay Live offer parallel models for turning demonstrations, creator credibility and audience interaction into transactions.

Shapermint expects about $10 million in 2026 TikTok Shop sales from an affiliate network led by women over 35. Sephora and eBay Live illustrate additional creator-led models combining product demonstrations, interaction and platform-based purchasing.

Shapermint is turning a network of more than 5,000 active TikTok Shop affiliate creators into a potentially significant sales channel. The shapewear brand is on track to generate about $10 million through TikTok Shop in 2026 after recording as much as 515% month-over-month sales growth, according to brand director Gabrielle Richards.

The strategy challenges the assumption that TikTok commerce depends primarily on young influencers. Women ages 35 to 65 have been Shapermint’s core demographic since the brand’s inception, and 60% of its top-performing TikTok Shop affiliates are older than 35. Rather than relying on celebrity endorsements, Shapermint recruits non-celebrity women who demonstrate products such as high-waisted shaping shorts, camis and strapless bras in their homes.

Those demonstrations address a practical online-sales obstacle: shoppers cannot touch shapewear and may struggle to judge sizing, fit or whether an item will slip or tug during ordinary activities. Since January, Shapermint’s creators have produced more than 20,000 videos, including over 5,000 during a recent 30-day period. The company distributes weekly creative briefs through Discord and studies successful creators’ messaging so others can test similar approaches. One affiliate has earned more than $31,900 through the program. Shapermint now aims to reach a $4 million monthly TikTok Shop sales run rate by year-end.

Sephora is testing a more concentrated version of creator-led commerce. The retailer launched its TikTok Shop with a livestream hosted by Mikayla Nogueira, who has more than 17 million TikTok followers and co-founded POV Beauty. Sephora initially limited the storefront to POV Beauty and Sephora Collection merchandise, including a 12-piece POV Beauty holiday set offered through TikTok Shop rather than Sephora’s website. Its storefront had sold nearly 2,300 products when Modern Retail reported on the launch, with additional merchandise planned through monthly drops.

eBay Live provides another variation: independent sellers pitch Rolex watches, Funko Pop toys, commemorative coins and Michael Kors backpacks in interactive livestream auctions. Sellers converse with chat participants and use countdowns—sometimes only 10 seconds long—to prompt bids that can begin at $1.

ConsumerEXP analysis: These models replace television’s centralized host-and-network structure with distributed creators, platform checkout and continuous product testing. For shopping networks and direct-response marketers, the business stakes extend beyond livestream production: success increasingly depends on recruiting credible presenters, matching them to defined audiences and measuring which demonstrations produce transactions.
