Don Lemon Partners With Swerve TV to Bring Creator News to FAST and Linear TV
The Don Lemon Channel will combine live news, archives and independent voices in a free, advertising-supported television service.
Don Lemon is partnering with Swerve TV to launch The Don Lemon Channel across FAST, streaming and linear television, extending his creator-led news operation into an ad-supported TV business.

Don Lemon is extending his independent media operation into television with The Don Lemon Channel, a free, advertising-supported outlet planned for distribution across streaming and linear platforms. The former CNN anchor is launching the service with Swerve TV, which operates and distributes FAST channels. The announcement did not identify a launch date, specific distribution services or geographic availability. (tvnewscheck.com)
The channel is expected to carry two live programs each day, daily news updates, archival shows and programming from other independent personalities. Named contributors include attorney and commentator Monique Pressley through The Monique Pressley Show; political creator Josh the Progressive; former Metropolitan Police Department officer Michael Fanone; and physician and health commentator Dr. Frita. The lineup positions the channel as more than a television simulcast of Lemon’s existing digital show, combining his reporting and commentary with a broader roster of independent voices. Lemon said his independent network has accumulated nearly 11 million followers across platforms and characterized the television expansion as a way to provide more programming without a traditional corporate gatekeeper. Swerve TV CEO Steve Shannon said Lemon had built an independent network serving more than 10 million followers after spending over a decade anchoring CNN prime time. Lemon left CNN in 2023 and subsequently concentrated on creator-controlled distribution through YouTube and other digital platforms. (currently.att.yahoo.com)
The launch enters a news market where established cable networks still deliver sizable measured audiences. For the week beginning August 24, Nielsen big data and panel measurements showed Fox News averaging 2.027 million primetime viewers, MS NOW averaging 937,000 and CNN averaging 611,000. Those figures provide a linear benchmark, although no comparable audience projection has been released for The Don Lemon Channel. (adweek.com)
The distribution environment is also expanding. Xperi recently said TiVo Channels was adding hundreds of global and local FAST services to TiVo OS, illustrating how connected-TV operating systems are creating more channel inventory and potential carriage opportunities. (thedesk.net)
ConsumerEXP analysis: The material change is that Lemon is converting a creator-led digital following into a scheduled, ad-supported television product. Swerve TV’s distribution role could give Lemon access to television interfaces and linear-style viewing beyond social platforms, while advertisers gain another independent news environment. The unanswered questions—carriage partners, launch timing, territories, measurement and advertising arrangements—will determine whether that reach becomes a scalable television business.
