Swedish Stockings Uses a Breakout Collaboration to Accelerate U.S. Growth

A New York pop-up and Roxana Tiger Tights relaunch turn product discovery into a customer-acquisition strategy.

Swedish Stockings is relaunching its Roxana Tiger Tights through its first U.S. pop-up after the Leandra Medine Cohen collaboration attracted new customers and supported double-digit American DTC growth.

Swedish Stockings is using the return of its sold-out Roxana Tiger Tights to deepen its U.S. presence, opening its first American pop-up on October 7 at 251 Elizabeth Street in New York. The Stockholm-based hosiery company will use the store to pre-launch Sharp Red and Bubblegum versions of the $65 tights, alongside the original Orange colorway. Online sales begin October 8, and co-designer Leandra Medine Cohen is scheduled to appear at the pop-up on October 14. The store will remain open through October 18.

The expansion builds on measurable customer discovery from the original fall 2025 collaboration. Swedish Stockings said 75% of customers who purchased Medine Cohen’s styles from October through December 2025 were new to the brand. Of those buyers, 49% subsequently made another purchase, close to the 51% repeat rate recorded among the company’s other first-time customers during the period.

Founder and CEO Linn Frisinger described the eye-catching tiger pattern as an entry point: Shoppers initially attracted to a statement product can later move into black tights and other everyday styles. The original Roxana release sold out, and some sizes sold out within hours when the Orange version returned in March 2026. Swedish Stockings said requests arrived through email and direct messages, while some customers visited its Stockholm headquarters seeking a restock.

The collaboration also coincided with stronger sales. Global direct-to-consumer revenue increased 60% to 70% year over year during October and November 2025, although Swedish Stockings did not disclose how much came directly from the Medine Cohen collection. U.S. DTC revenue rose 37% year over year from January through September 2026. Revenue across DTC, wholesale and partnerships increased more than 30% over that period, while global wholesale sales advanced 45% over the preceding 12 months.

Swedish Stockings already sells through Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, Ssense, FWRD and Revolve. It uses a U.S. third-party logistics provider for dropship partners including Moda Operandi, Nordstrom and Bloomingdale’s, and plans to move fulfillment of American DTC orders from Sweden to that U.S. operation.

ConsumerEXP analysis: The strategy links a limited-edition discovery product to repeat purchasing, retail distribution and lower-friction domestic fulfillment. Rather than treating the pop-up only as brand promotion, Swedish Stockings is using demonstrated acquisition and retention behavior to support a broader U.S. commerce infrastructure.
